  • James E. (Gene) Bradley, 84, died May 25, 2012 at the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, Kansas. Gene was born January 7, 1928 in Greensburg, the son of James O. and Buena Vista (Rose) Bradley. A lifetime resident of Greensburg, Gene was the Owner/operator of Bradley Appliance. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1946 and attended Kansas University. He was a member and officer of the Kiowa Lodge #293 Masonic Lodge and was Grand Tyler in 1999 and 2007,a long time secretary of the Star of Hope Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the First United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir, and the Cannonball Golf Club, all of Greensburg. On April 8, 1950, Gene married Margaret Culp in Greensburg. She survives. Other survivors include a son Jay and wife Reba Bradley, Pueblo West, Colorado, two daughters Barbara Bradley, Omaha, Nebraska, Cathy and husband Gene McFall, Greensburg, a brother J Roderick and wife Shirley Bradley, Overland Park, Kansas, a sister Rose and husband Gary Miller, Pratt, Kansas, eleven Grandchildren Brett Harmon, Brian Harmon, Jimmy Bradley, Lacey McFall, Lindsey McFall, Leah McFall and husband Patrick Yount, Katie Bradley, Gina Bradley, Miranda and husband Tony Wagoner, Farrah and husband Ken Routon, Tina and husband Chris Underhill, Six Great-grandchildren Malia and Asa Foster, Konner, Hannah, and Grace Routon, and Kaylee Wagoner. Gene was preceded in death by a sister Joan Bowman. Funeral services and celebration of Gene's life was held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May, 29, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg with Pastor Terry Mayhew officiating. The family greeted friends immediately before and after the service at the church. Burial with Masonic Honors followed in Fairview Cemetery at 2:45. A visitation was held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church and the Twilight Theater, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main, Greensburg, Kansas, 67054.
