Philip Lynn Fark, 65, Grove, Oklahoma, formerly of Greensburg, Kansas died Sunday, May 13, at the home of his daughter in Grove. He was born July 8, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. Phil was the son of Virgil and Luenetta (Pennington) Fark. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Leann (Todd) Fark.
He attended Greensburg High School and was a member of the class of 1964. He was a farmer/rancher, cattle buyer and at one time managed the sale barn in Larned Kansas. He was a member of Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Cattleman’s Association, the Posse of Grove, Oklahoma and the Grove Moose. The last several years he focused on cattle buying at many sale barns in Kansas, Okahoma, Missouri and Texas.
Phil enjoyed his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He and Leann spent many summers enjoying camping at the Coldwater Lake before moving to Grove. Grand Lake held great appeal for both of them as well. Fishing, boating, and jet skiing were activities enjoyed by the whole family. Phil loved living in his cabin on the lake, sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. Although he was a cowboy at heart, he was more comfortable on a Harley than a horse, and enjoyed many bike runs with his fellow bikers and friends. During the past couple of years, he enjoyed the company of Lacey Page of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
His survivors include a daughter, Patty Stout of Grove, Oklahoma, a son James Lee Wedel and wife Denise of Medicine Park, Oklahoma and his sister Sue Greenleaf of Greensburg, Kansas. Granddaughters, Kelsie Stout and Gracie Gray of Grove, and Heather Wedel of Marlow, Oklahoma, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral service were held at 11:00 AM at the Bar None Church at the Flying Cow Arena, Grove, Oklahoma with internment to be held at Fairvew Cemetery in Greensburg, Kansas on Saturday May 19, at 10:30 AM.
