  • Donald Wayne Collins, Sr., 76 passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on September 17, 1935 at Sedalia, Missouri to Willard & Elizabeth Maltsbarger (Arvieux) Collins, Sr. Donald attended school at Sedalia, Missouri.  After his schooling he served in the U.S. Army for 9 years, mainly stationed in Germany.  After his discharge he returned to Sedalia and was a cross country truck driver for moving companies.  He moved to Garden City in 2007.  Donald was a member of the catholic faith and the V.F.W. and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers- Keith & Kenneth & 2 sisters- Evelyn & Dorothy. He is survived by four sons;  Donnie Gene Collins of Portland, Oregon, Donald Wayne Collins, Jr. of Andover, Merle Joe Collins, Sr. of  Greensburg, Matthew Shawn Collins of Garden City, a daughter; Shayla Mae Collins-Deam of  Junction City, two brothers; Willard Collins, Jr. and Bill Collins of Sedalia, Mo., nine sisters; Carolyn Crawford, Nora Paul, Mary Ann Nissen, Betty Shapley, Judy Schneider, Kaffy Wilhoit of Sedalia, Mo., Marjorie Finedore of Redman, Wash., Lillian Dover of  Post Falls, Id., Esther Dorweiler of Nixon, Mo., 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
    Services were held at 2 PM on March 7 at Haviland Cemetery in Haviland.
