On December 17 we watched our home burn to the ground. We had many friends and family stand beside us offering what comfort they could. It was amazing the amount of help that started pouring in even that night.
Many offered us a place to stay including Brian and Traci Gumpenberger whose rental house we moved into the following Monday. That evening, as we were moving what little we had into the house, people started bringing us furniture and food even in the snow and sleet. The help just kept coming as people brought us clothes, toys for our kids, pictures to help replace some of the ones we lost, Christmas presents to put under the tree and the everyday things that you don’t even know you need until you need it.
Many fundraisers were set up for us by Haley Kern, Linika Probst, and Debbie Boyles and her daughter Lacey. The First United Methodist Church and many others gave money to help us rebuild our life.
This is a wonderful community that we live in and we’re proud to be a part of it. Thank you so much for all your help. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you! We know God was watching over us because we still have most important part of life – each other.
