The regular meeting of the KCMH Auxiliary took place Wednesday, January 11th with eight members and our guest speaker present. The meeting began with the reading of the Auxiliary Prayer. We then enjoyed a delicious meal served by the hospital Dietary dept. Our speaker, Kelsey Hott, PA-C, visited with the group about her background. She is the daughter of Dr. Richard Meador of Medicine Lodge. Kelsey and her husband moved back to Kansas from West Virginia where she received her PA and education in Dermatology. Her husband is currently employed at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt. Kelsey began practicing at Greensburg and Haviland in September 2011.
After an enjoyable discussion with the guest speaker, President, Carolyn Irvin, began the meeting by asking for the installation of the 2012 Executive Committee. Mildred Unruh, Past President, conducted the installation ceremony. The officers are: Treasurer, Roberta Seiler; Secretary, June Boettcher; Vice-President, Minnie Koehn; and President, Carolyn Irvin. As next order of business, the minutes of the previous meeting and the account balance were read and approved. We are proud to report the sale of $5,000 of Dillon’s Debit cards sold in 2011. Thank you to everyone who continues to purchase these cards from our organization.
Carolyn then presented the list of required events and meetings throughout the year. The District 6 meeting will be in May at Larned; the State meeting will be in November at Overland Park. This organization welcome all returning and any new members and say “Thank You” for your continued support. Ongoing reminders: bring handbook to every meeting, RSVP for meals the by 5 p.m. Monday preceding the Wednesday meeting, and are the 2012 dues paid and volunteer hours turned in? The minutes and photo album are open records and can be viewed at any time but respectfully request at least a 24 hour notice. The next meeting will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
Carolyn Irvin, President
