Who is Jesus Christ?  His mission was to persuade people to believe in Him as Savior, to convince them to adopt His teachings and to follow Him in daily life?to become His disciples.  One day He asked His disciples for the word on the street (Luke 9:18-27).  Jesus aimed to do more than start a movement, liberate the Jewish people or overthrow Rome.  He came to reveal God, to introduce His kingdom and to bring His lost children home.  “’But what about you?’ he asked.  ‘Who do you say I am?’”  Did they get it?  He knew what people were saying about Him.  More importantly, He wanted to know what the disciples believed--to declare their faith in Him as Lord.
Some thought John the Baptist had come back from the dead.  John had denounced Herod for taking his brother’s wife, and the new wife did not like it. She demanded John’s head on a platter.  Herod fulfilled her wish.  Others believed He was the prophet Elijah alive again.
“Peter answered, ‘The Christ of God.’”  He understood that Jesus was the Son of God, but he did not get this insight from another person or human opinion.  Rather, God revealed to him the truth about Jesus.
People still have all kinds of notions about Jesus: good teacher, prophet, one option among many.  Evaluate what you believe about Jesus and His Word.  Are they absolutely true in all situations for all people?for you?  If you are not convinced, you will not follow His principles in daily life.  Find out what Jesus said and did.  Adopt the teachings you discover.  Incorporate His ways into every day.  Cultivate a relationship with Him through prayer and Bible study.  Seek relationships with other disciples.
The Bible calls us to align our daily lifestyle with what we believe about Jesus Christ.  Believing in Him demands a response.  Our lifestyle speaks volumes about our view of Christ.  Your willingness to follow His ways reveals what you truly believe about Jesus Christ.
He still looks for disciples who follow His ways.  What would convince you to follow His teachings or to let Him change you to become like Him?  The answer rests in what you believe about Jesus Christ.
