  • Following the complete destruction of their 100-year-old farmhouse in Greensburg this week, Cory West and his family have been on the receiving end of Greensburg's generosity and community spirit.
"If there were ever a community that understood losing everything, it's ours," said Jan West on Thursday evening.
Various businesses and community members have lent a helping hand to the West family, who lost their home on Saturday. The People's Bank has set up an account to receive donations, the Last Tangle in Greensburg reported that they had raised almost $250 in two days, inviting members of the community to come and get a haircut and all money raised would benefit the West family.
Mackie Shae's boutique is accepting donations for the West family. Residents are encouraged to drop off home goods, clothes, and donations.
On January 14th, there will be a benefit concert at the community building next to the Red Barn, which was generously donated rent-free by the Kiowa County EMS. Haley Kern has created a Facebook event with up to date information here.
