As more tornados touched down throughout the  nation’s midsection last night, hundreds in Greensburg flocked to shelters

More than 60 tornados were reported Saturday, according to the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center.

In Greensburg, meanwhile, the Red Cross reported about 90 percent of the town was destroyed or heavily damaged.

Aerial footage of the aftermath of the tornado was posted on YouTube by Jburstone.

Others are taking to the Web to sharing their stories, photos and video.

Allan Detrich, a freelance photo journalist and founding member of the storm chase group M.E.S.O. (www.mcwar.org). and a National Weather Service/NOAA certified SKYWARN Trained Storm Spotter, recalled on his blog:

“We skirted the tornado that destroyed the small town of Greensburg, KS, making it through winds of nearly 120 mph, with debris flying horizontally to the ground. Our van nearly tipping over several times. We lost a headlight to debris and got some hail dents, but other than that, we exited the storm intact,” he recalled in his blog.

Detrich also shared his photos.
